Veterinarian Dr Melissa Jacobs is known for her calm and compassionate care for dogs and cats, knowledgeable medicine, and thoughtful demeanor.

After graduating magna cum laude in the top 3 of her veterinary class at St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Jacobs completed a small animal internship at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine focusing on internal medicine, emergency, and surgery in dogs and cats. She continued to advance her studies with an emergency and critical care post-doctoral year (UMn), followed by a specialty surgical internship for dogs and cats after a move to the San Francisco Bay area.

Since completing these intensive years of study, Dr. Jacobs has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 17 years in a wide variety of general practice and specialty clinics. She developed PawsVet Housecalls & Mobile Veterinary Care with the goal of 'taking her practice to the patient,' removing the stressful hustle and bustle of the standard veterinary hospital, emphasizing that house calls lead to better patient care, a more vital practice, and a more rewarding bond between the pet, their family & the veterinarian. A genuine link between pets and their people, she practices high-quality, continuous, comprehensive care for each pet in her family practice.

When not teaching or practicing veterinary medicine, Dr. Jacobs is the proprietor and creative force behind RemysBrands.com, authoring a pet care blog and handcrafting a bath salts line for pets, notably PawSoak by RemysBrands.

In her spare time, Dr. Jacobs enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking with her two dogs, cuddling her kitty, and caring for her goldfish. She loves the outdoors, hiking, and playing soccer with friends.
